Max McNown
Oregon-born artist Max McNown's rise has been meteoric — from teaching himself guitar in just a few months, to busking across Southern California, to auditioning for (and ultimately turning down) a major TV talent show, all while building a massive following on TikTok, where he now has 2.6 million followers.
The Nashville-based singer-songwriter's breakout hit "A Lot More Free" has gone RIAA Certified Platinum in the U.S., amassed over 400M worldwide streams, and made its Billboard Hot 100 debut — launching him to the top of Billboard's Emerging Artists chart. The song also peaked in the Top 10 at Hot AC Radio, hit #1 on TikTok's Breakthrough USA chart, and even earned a Kellyoke performance from Kelly Clarkson herself.
His follow-up single, "Better Me For You (Brown Eyes)," the lead track from his 2025 sophomore album Night Diving (The Cost of Growing Up), went Double Platinum in the U.S. and gave McNown his highest Billboard Hot 100 position yet at #26, spending 36 weeks on the chart. It also landed him #6 at Country Radio and #1 on iTunes' Country Songs Chart.
With TV performances on The TODAY Show and The Kelly Clarkson Show, and recognition as Billboard's Chartbreaker and an Artist to Watch by Amazon Music and Holler, McNown continues to be praised as one of the "brightest newly minted stars to come out of Nashville" (Grammy.com) — and is poised for a breakout 2026.
